മലപ്പുറം തൊടിയപുലത്താണ് പതിനാലുകാരിയെ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട നിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. മൃതദേഹം പാണ്ടിക്കാട് റെയിൽവെ ട്രാക്കിന് സമീപം കുറ്റിക്കാട്ടിലാണ് കിടന്നിരുന്നത്.
കരുവാരക്കുണ്ട് ഗവ.ഹയർ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂളിലെ ഒൻപതാം ക്ലാസ് വിദ്യാർഥിനിയാണ്. സംഭവത്തിൽ പ്ലസ് ടു വിദ്യാർഥിയായ 16കാരനായ സുഹൃത്തിനെ പൊലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു.
വ്യാഴാഴ്ച സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് പോയ പെൺകുട്ടി വീട്ടിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചെത്തിയിരുന്നില്ല. കുട്ടിയുടെ അമ്മ കരുവാരക്കുണ്ട് പൊലീസിൽ പരാതി നൽകിയിരുന്നു.
തുടർന്ന് നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തിലാണ് കൈകൾ കൂട്ടിക്കെട്ടിയ നിലയിൽ മൃതദേഹം കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. സ്കൂൾ യൂണിഫോമിൽ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു പെൺകുട്ടി. കസ്റ്റഡിയിലായ സുഹൃത്ത് തന്നെയാണ് മൃതദേഹം കാണിച്ചു കൊടുത്തത്. കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട പെൺകുട്ടിയും പിടിയിലായ സുഹൃത്തും ഒരേ സ്കൂളിലാണ് പഠിക്കുന്നത്.
